Keystone alumni planning all-school reunion for 2016
The Keystone All School Reunion committee met to formulate plans for a Keystone All School Reunion Picnic, which will be held next year, 2016 on Saturday, August 6th. AmeriCorps NCCC team Cedar 1 is assisting with One Heartland until September 16 by assisting as camp counselors and with maintenance projects around the worksite. They are revitalizing the camp by beautifying the camp grounds and being positive role models for the campers.
Cedar 1 members are camp counselors which includes leading and setting up skill activities such as canoeing, archery, arts and crafts, fishing, hiking, gardening and helping with the goats. NCCC Cedar 4 aids community of Brainerd after wind storm damage

The Cedar 4 team of AmeriCorps NCCC’s Class XXI headed into their fifth week of service, only this time to respond to a disaster affecting the community of Brainerd, Minn., after devastating straight line winds ravaged through the town. The team served alongside with the Nechama Jewish Response to Disaster, a volunteer organization that provides natural disaster preparedness, response, and recovery services nationwide.
Area students receive diplomas from Wartburg College
Wartburg College awarded diplomas to 298 students during Spring Commencement May 24.
Allison Emrich of Vinton graduated with a degree in fitness management. She is the daughter of Mark and Kimberly Emrich.
Megan Jorgensen of Vinton graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in history and peace & justice studies. She is the daughter of Patrick and Nancy Jorgensen.

NCCC Oak 1 Helps Continue the Rebuilding Process of Detroit Post Flood

AmeriCorps NCCC team Oak 1 is serving with All Hands Volunteer and Mennonite Disaster Services in Detroit Michigan until August 4. The team is assisting with mucking and gutting, and rebuilding basements.
In two weeks the team has assisted with putting up foam boards, furring strips, draw wall and mudding and taping in the basement floor of one family’s home outside of downtown Detroit with All Hands. Local students named to University of Iowa Dean's List

Knoll and Thorsvig announce Engagement and upcoming Wedding
Jason and Britton Lerch, Bill and Betty Thorsvig, of Vinton and Peggy Knoll of Amana, are pleased to announce the engagement of their children on June 18th, 2015.
Taylor was a graduate of VSH in 2012. Anthony graduated in 2012. Anthony is currently employed at Riverbend Plastics as a machinist.
